The hottest ticket of 2026 might be the one fans can’t document.
New Eventbrite platform data shows phone-free events are surging worldwide, as audiences increasingly seek live experiences that feel less curated, less distracted and more real. According to Eventbrite’s April 2026 analysis, phone-free events grew 567% globally from 2024 to 2025, while attendance jumped 913% in the U.S. and 1,441% in the U.K.
The trend, once viewed as a niche digital detox, wellness experiment or restrictive event policy, is now becoming a major cultural signal. From major artists testing no-phone environments to grassroots social events built entirely around unplugging, phone-free experiences are moving from novelty to demand driver.
Eventbrite’s data points to 2026 as a potential breakout year for what many are calling the “Year of Analog.” In the first three months of 2026 alone, phone-free events have already reached more than one-third of last year’s total global phone-free event volume, suggesting the trend is accelerating quickly.
The broader cultural shift has been visible across live entertainment. Harry Styles’ phone-free Manchester show, Fred again..’s phoneless concerts and Yondr-enforced performances from artists including Dave Chappelle and Alicia Keys have helped bring the concept into the mainstream. But Eventbrite’s data shows the movement is not limited to arenas and celebrity-led events.
Local gatherings are also leaning in. Examples include Unplugged: A Phone-Free Morning Hang in New York City and Denver’s RhythmRx, a high-energy phone-free dance experience. The pitch is simple: put the phone away and be fully present.
The growth numbers are striking. Globally, phone-free events increased 567% from 2024 to 2025, with attendance up 121%. The category also expanded from five countries to 12 countries during that period. In the U.S., phone-free events rose 388%, while attendance climbed 913%. In the U.K., events spiked 1,200%, with attendance up 1,441%.

The demand appears to be tied to a wider backlash against over-curated digital life. Eventbrite’s data notes that 49% of 18- to 35-year-olds want events to feel less curated and more real, while 79% value spontaneity over a perfect plan. Meanwhile, 84% of Americans are turning to analog habits to improve their well-being.
Screen fatigue is also part of the story. Excessive online time is leaving many consumers drained, with 25% reporting they feel overwhelmed, 22% anxious and an average of 70% of time spent online leading to loneliness rather than authentic connection, according to the data.
For promoters, venues and ticketing platforms, the takeaway is clear: phone-free is no longer just a policy. It is becoming a selling point.
As fans continue searching for connection that feels more immediate and less performative, the next wave of live events may not be judged by how good they look on social media — but by how good they feel when no one is filming.
