Live Nation Entertainment has acquired a majority stake in Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, the companies announced, giving the global concert giant ownership of one of Latin America’s busiest live entertainment venues.
The 15,000-capacity arena, which opened in 2019, hosts more than 250 events annually and attracts over 2.5 million fans each year. Located in Argentina’s capital city, the venue has become a major destination for international touring acts and leading artists from across the region.
Under the agreement, Live Nation will support the arena’s existing management team as it continues to operate the venue. The company said Movistar Arena Buenos Aires will remain available to all qualified promoters.
“Movistar Arena Buenos Aires is one of the premier venues in Latin America,” said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment. “We are excited to support the Movistar Arena team in providing a first-class environment for artists and fans.”

The acquisition expands Live Nation’s footprint in Latin America, where the company has continued to invest in venues and live entertainment infrastructure amid growing demand for concerts and live events throughout the region.
Gabriel Dantur, CEO of Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, shared, “Since opening our doors, Movistar Arena Buenos Aires has become a benchmark for live entertainment in Argentina and across Latin America.”
“Live Nation’s investment reflects the strength of what the team has built over the past several years, and we will continue to enhance the experience for artists, fans, partners, and promoters,” Dantur said.
The transaction also marks a new chapter for La Nación, which previously held the majority ownership stake in the arena. While no longer the controlling shareholder, the company will remain invested in the venue as a shareholder.
